What makes me unique?

August 21, 2012

Today my first grade class at Washington Discovery Academy began uncovering answers to their first project of the year’s driving question “What makes my name unique?”  The students began recording their thoughts on what they already know is unique about who they are using a program called “VoiceThread.”  My first grade students helped create this collaborative product on an iPad fairly easy.  Using creation tools like this on an iPad excite me to think of all the endless possibilities my students will have to express to others what they have learned.

Click here to view our “VoiceThread.”  (The pictures in this “VoiceThread” were taken on the first day of first grade and tell what each students wants to be when they grow up.)

Lauren Cooper is a first grade teacher at Washington Discovery Academy.  This is here 8th year in education.  She is always looking for ways to collaborate and improve student achievement in her classroom.
