First Graders Blogging

November 20, 2012

Twenty-eight first graders are quickly becoming “super lifelong readers” as well as “super bloggers!”  First graders are utilizing their iPads for a variety of ways to enhance learning and student engagement.  Students quickly learned how to scan QR codes to access spelling tests, polls, show me apps, videos, etc.  They were more than ready to start blogging!  Blogging is a great way for a student to express his/herself and write from the heart.  Blogging is a magnificent tool for students to learn to write for life-long learning purposes.  It allows them to share their opinions and insights, as well as becoming empowered by their “voice” being heard.  The activity of blogging will help students learn to become responsible journalists by understanding the power of the published word!
