What did we do?  Well, Mrs. Sharp is wanting to install new bamboo flooring in two rooms of her house.  She needs to figure out how much flooring she needs and the cost.

Our teacher made a video and showed the measurements of the room and how to find them.  This video helped us because this showed us how to draw to scale.  Our teacher gave us all the measurements of the rooms, through the video, to see how much flooring she will need in two rooms.  Our teacher took one of her  students to the floor store.  At The Floor Store, they interviewed  the owner.  He discussed what we needed to calculate for redoing the bedroom flooring to bamboo flooring.

The skills we learned in this project is how to find the area of a real life bedroom.  Not only did we learn to do area we learned how to find subtotal, tax, and waste.  This is what you would do in real life because you have to find area of a room to find how much bamboo you would need.  This is not only a mathematic process, it is also a science experiment because you need to compare and contrast the bamboo flooring to carpet.  This shows how long you would be able to save money in the long run.
